Marty Fischer
Sporting Clays Course Designer
Marty Fischer, a nationally acclaimed outdoorsman and gun club designer, is the creator of the sporting clays course at Blalock Lakes. He has designed more than 100 sporting clays facilities throughout North America and has been referred to as "perhaps the most sought-after gun club designer in America" by the Knoxville News-Sentinel. An accomplished author, Marty is the host of the highly acclaimed "Shotgun Journal" on The Outdoor Channel. He is a professional wingshooter and National Sporting Clays Association Level III shooting instructor.
Rans Thomas
Wildlife Biologist/Consultant
At 17, Rans Thomas had already begun his career working on a hunting plantation. Nearly 20 years later, Rans is an accomplished and published wildlife biologist and consultant working with over 200,000 acres of private hunting lands in 10 different states. Rans is also the Director of Tecomate Consulting and Management, where he oversees a nationwide network of wildlife biologists. Rans and Jeff Foxworthy are featured hunters on a new wildlife show, "The Bucks of Tecomate," on the Versus Network. "It's rare to see a property with such raw potential for world-class wing shooting and outdoor recreation. Blalock Lakes will be a true treasure for the outdoor enthusiast," said Thomas.
Greg Grimes
Fisheries Manager
Greg Grimes founded Aquatic Environmental Services, Inc., in 1996 while he was obtaining his Master's Degree in Fisheries from the University of Georgia. Greg is an accomplished fisheries manager, helping clients throughout the Southeast to achieve lakes that not only look beautiful, but support thriving fish populations as well. Greg manages over 80 lakes in the metro Atlanta region alone. At Blalock Lakes, he has overseen all improvements of the fishery, including restructuring of the lake bottom for maximum fish habitat, starting a supplemental feeding program, stocking of forage fish, and total revamp of the kids'/fly-fishing lake. Greg is determined to make Blalock Lakes the finest fishing destination of its kind in the Southeast.
Troy Morgan
Sporting Club General Manager
The great outdoors is where Troy Morgan has always felt right at home. After studying Wildlife Technology at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Troy steadily worked his way up from land management trainee at Tall Timber Research Station in Florida, to assistant manager at MacKay Point Plantation in South Carolina, then operations manager at Ridgeway Farm in Georgia. Troy holds several certifications, including prescribed burn management and Level I Shooting Instructor, and has also attended the George Hickox School of Pointing and Flushing Dogs. Along with the rest of his Blalock Lakes team, Troy is focused on helping Club members make the most of their outdoor adventures, all within a safe and well-managed environment.
Kevin Lowe
Lead Sales Executive
Kevin Lowe is passionate about many things-his family, hunting, fishing, and Auburn football. More recently he added to that list a passion for Blalock Lakes, and showing prospective members what a unique lifestyle opportunity the community offers. Kevin grew up in Atlanta and graduated from Auburn University with a degree in marketing. He then built a successful career in residential real estate, including more than seven years in resort real estate for the Ginn Company in Florida and prior to that Reynolds Plantation in Georgia. Kevin is pleased to be back in the Atlanta area helping families discover the joys of Blalock Lakes and find their perfect home in this one-of-a-kind sporting community.
Brian Mitchell
Assistant Manager
For Brian Mitchell, an avid outdoorsman and Level I Shooting Instructor, working at Blalock Lakes allows him to share his expertise in the things he loves most-hunting and fishing. As our Assistant Manager and resident outdoor expert, Brian helps you navigate the community's 3,000 acres, including 180 acres of lakes. He also assists with land maintenance and other upkeep on the property. With a degree in Wildlife and Plantation Management from Ogeechee Technical College and previous positions at Hanging Rock Plantation in Georgia and Okeetee Club in South Carolina, Brian brings extensive knowledge to his work.
Jos and Laura Sevriens
Equestrian Directors
The husband and wife team of Jos and Laura Sevriens brings a horse-friendly and people-friendly approach to all of the riding disciplines at Blalock Lakes. Jos is an award-winning competitor and certified instructor with more than 45 years of experience in all FEI disciplines. Laura is a trainer and instructor who has ridden competitively for 35 years. Under the Sevriens direction, The Stables will offer boarding, training, and lessons, as well as host clinics and competitive events at all levels. Special activities and shows will also be geared toward younger riders. By delivering personal attention to both horse and rider, Jos and Laura see The Stables evolving into a premier equestrian facility in the Southeast.
